Ag Partners Gives Additional Support to the NVCH Construction Project
Seneca, Kansas— Courtney Schmelzle, Director of the Nemaha Valley Health Care Foundation announced today that Ag Partners Coop has made an additional $15,000 donation to the NVHCF Investing in our Families and Future Capital Campaign. This gift is in response to the recent $150,000 Community Tax Credit opportunity NVHCF has for area businesses and individuals.

“The Community Service Tax Credit Program (CSP) provides an opportunity for private, non-profit organizations and public health care entities to improve their ability to undertake major capital campaigns for approved projects,” said Schmelzle. “We were awarded $150,000 in tax credits to offer any business and/or individual who is subject to Kansas income tax.”

CSP tax credits have been issued in Kansas since 1994. The program provides a 70% tax credit to qualified donors in rural communities (populations less than 15,000). The credits are a direct deduction from the donor’s state tax obligation. For example, a donor making a $1,000 gift in a rural community receives a $700 tax credit when they file their state taxes, making the net cost to the donor only $300.

“As a locally owned member cooperative, Ag Partners takes great pride in supporting the communities we serve. As such, supporting an initiative like this aligns with our mission and core values. Local medical care is vital to rural areas such as ours, and we are proud to be a part of this project,” said Wes Spohr, Ag Partners President & CEO.

“We are honored to receive an additional gift and would like thank the leadership and all employees at Ag Partners for their commitment to Nemaha Valley Community Hospital,” Schmelzle added.
