Ag Partners Attends School Day at the K
May 18, 2023
Consistent rain did not stop the Ag Partners team from making their way to Kansas City on May 11 for School Day at the K, or in other words, Kansas City’s biggest field trip.
Ag Partners became the proud agricultural cooperative partner of the Kansas City Royals at the beginning of the 2023 season. Together we work to promote agriculture across the Royals' territory, including urban schools.
This large field trip for teachers and students offers a focus on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Official meteorologists of the Royals: KSHB 41 hosted the event with approximately 10,000 children in attendance.
Ag Partners took the opportunity to show children the many different ways agriculture benefits them. The digital ag team brought a Rantizo drone and played videos to show the kids how they use drones in agriculture to take care of crops.
A miniature greenhouse gave the children an opportunity to learn about where different foods come from and how they grow. Jed Miller, Chief Strategy Officer, gave information and resources to teachers and parents to learn more about Globally Responsible Production (GRP) and how to have a greenhouse built for their schools/curriculum.
As an official partner of the Kansas City Royals, Ap Partners set up a second station inside the concourse at Kauffman Stadium. This station housed various grains, including corn, milo, wheat, and soybeans. Children enjoyed playing around in the crops and learning about what grains, like those they were holding, could be used for.
